CURIOSITIES OF CHARLES V: HOW HE WAS BORN IN A BATHROOM
11/12/2019 - RCCV
Description

DID YOU KNOW THAT… Emperor Charles V was born in a bathroom? Her mother, Juana, who attended a party at the Prinsenhof Palace, in Ghent, on February 23rd, 1500, to accompany her husband, jealous of seeing him surrounded by such beautiful courtesans. And so, in the final stretch of her pregnancy, she appeared with him at the party. At one point in the night she wanted to go to the bathroom; and once there, what came out was a pink and screaming creature. Alone, without a maiden by her side, she had given birth to the future Charles I of Spain and V of Germany in a pestilent toilet.
